HBK’s Mission is to create a private and relaxing environment, where clients can come in to escape the everyday world and unwind while being pampered. I constantly strive to better my skills through training and advanced education, to not only provide a service to my clients, but a memorable experience from the moment they walk through the door, to the time they leave, feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and most important beautiful.

Meet the owner

My name is Kaylynn Lopez and I have been in the beauty industry for nearly 13 years. After graduating from high school in 2010, I chose to attend Bellus Academy Poway, nicknamed “The Harvard of Beauty Schools”, where I acquired a solid foundation for cuts, color and styling. I was one of only two people in my graduating class chosen for an externship at The Doves by DNA in Santa Monica under Christopher and Sonya Dove, multiple award winning and Master Stylists. Throughout the years I have gained a great deal of knowledge and skill and I firmly believe that education is the key to success. I continue to take classes, attend webinars and conferences to sharpen my skills and I make a deliberate effort to follow the latest trends. Over the years, I have done multiple bridal parties, photoshoots and been featured on Fox 5 News as an Expert Stylist. After five years of working in a full service salon I moved into a Phenix Salon Suite where I officially started Hair By Kaylynn. While I loved having my own room, after five years, I craved a larger space. Now located in the midst of Rancho Bernardo I have a bigger welcoming space and a large window overlooking a beautiful landscape with Webb Lake just a short walk away!!
